Brian O’leary

Brian O'leary has been Communications Director at the Montana Office of Public Instruction since August 2021. Prior to that, they served as Deputy Communications Director and Executive Assistant at the office from February 2022 to August 2021. Brian also worked as a Staff Assistant at Senator Steve Daines' office from January 2021 to August 2021.

Before their work in government, Brian was a Team Lead Manager at Murphy Nasica from January 2018 to March 2018, where they led a three member grassroots canvassing team for multiple Texas State House candidates and one US House candidate. Brian was also a Field Representative at Murphy Nasica from October 2017 to December 2017, working on grassroots campaigning for multiple Texas State Senate and Texas State House candidates.

In addition, Brian has experience as a campaign manager, having served as Campaign Manager for the Kevin Downing Campaign for Texas House from October 2015 to March 2016, and as Field Director for the Charlie Geren Campaign for Texas House from July 2015 to September 2015.

Brian O'leary completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Montana State University-Bozeman.

Brian O’leary reports to Elsie Arntzen, State Superintendent. They are on a team with Rob Stutz - Chief Legal Counsel, Maie Lee Jones - Project Manager, and Anna Hoerner - Executive Assistant, Deputy Communications Director.
