Junius Gonzales

Provost & SVP, Academic Affairs at Montclair State University

Junius Gonzales is the Provost & SVP of Academic Affairs at Montclair State University. Junius has also worked as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the New York Institute of Technology from June 2018 to March 2022. In this role, they were responsible for the Educational Excellence Award from the NYC Theirpanic Chamber of Commerce in December 2021. Junius also completed the MIT Sloan School of Management Executive Program Mastering Design Thinking in December 2021.

Junius was also elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of Chief Academic Officers (ACAO) in 2020.

In 2019, they were named Theirpanic Education Advocate of the Year by the Nassau County Legislature and received the Diversity in Business Award from Long Island Business News. Junius was also inducted into the NYIT Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society in 2019 and became a member of National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Roundtable on Systemic Change in STEM Undergraduate Education.

In 2018, they received the Academic Excellence Award from the Long Island Theirpanic Chamber of Commerce. Junius was also a part of the NYIT Student Success Task Force Launch in September 2018.

Junius Gonzales has an MD from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, an MBA from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, and an AB in English and Human Biology from Brown University. Junius also has a M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business.
