Anna Kostikova

Anna Kostikova has extensive work experience in the field of data science and computational biology. Anna currently holds the position of Senior Director of Data Science & Computational Biology at Monte Rosa Therapeutics, a role they have held since July 2023.

Prior to this, Anna co-founded Asylia Diagnostics BV and served as the Chief Science Officer since January 2019.

Anna also worked at Novartis as the Director of Data Science and Machine Learning from July 2019 to August 2023. During their time at Novartis, they oversaw the growth of the data science team and played a crucial role in supporting various projects in translational medicine and precision medicine.

Before Novartis, Anna worked as a Lead Data Scientist at The HEINEKEN Company for a brief period in 2019. Anna also served as a Senior Data Scientist at Booking.com from November 2017 to March 2019, and as a Data Scientist from November 2014 to November 2017.

Anna's earlier experience includes working as the Chief Science Officer at InsideDNA from 2013 to 2019, a Research Scientist (post-doctoral) at SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics from June 2013 to November 2014, and a PhD student in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Lausanne - UNIL from September 2009 to May 2013.

Furthermore, Anna co-founded and served as the CTO at GIS Consult Group from 2007 to 2011, and held the position of a Senior GIS Consultant at Scanex/Transparent World from October 2006 to October 2007.

Throughout their career, Anna has demonstrated expertise in growing teams, developing solutions for core challenges in the medical field, and contributing to scientific research through publications and innovative projects.

Anna Kostikova's education history is as follows: they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in 2004. Anna then pursued a Master's degree in Biology, General from the same university, which they completed in 2006. In 2005-2006, they also attended The University of Edinburgh, where they received a Master of GIS degree in Geographic Information Science. Finally, Anna completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Life Science, specializing in bioinformatics & computational biology, from the University of Lausanne between 2009 and 2014.
