Anthony (Tony) Matejicka has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Anthony (Tony) started their career in 1994 with a rotating internship at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Anthony (Tony) then went on to serve as an internal medicine resident, chief medical resident, and provider in private practice at the same network. In 2007, they worked as a healthcare consultant at BCE Healthcare Advisors. From 2009 to 2014, they held various roles at Baylor Scott & White Health, including system VP for physician documentation and coding and medical director for coding and utilization. In 2014, they became the chief medical officer at Community Medical Center-Barnabas Health before moving to Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2016, where they currently hold the position of vice president and chief medical officer.
Anthony (Tony) Matejicka has an extensive education history in the healthcare field. Anthony (Tony) began their education journey by obtaining a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 1994. Following this, Tony pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, completing it in 1998.
In order to further enhance their leadership skills and healthcare knowledge, Tony engaged in various executive education programs. Anthony (Tony) completed the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) program offered by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM) from 2011 to 2012. In 2010, they completed the Continuous Learning & Improvement Program at Lean Works Toyota Production System. Anthony (Tony) also obtained the title of Just Culture Champion from Outcome Engenuity LLC in March 2016. Furthermore, Tony became a Certified Physician Executive in November 2012, as certified by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management Inc.
Most recently, Tony attended the Montefiore Health System's Physician Leadership Program as part of its Inaugural Cohort from 2018 to 2020. This program likely focused on developing leadership skills specific to the medical field.
