Machine Shop Supervisor & Prototype Machinist at Monterey Bay Aquariam Research Institute

As Supervisor of MBARI’S Machine Shop Ray reviews, assigns and monitors all work sent to the shop to be Machined, Manufactured or 3D Printed to make sure all projects get completed in a reasonable time frame to meet the needs of the Project Coordinator and Ship Deployments for the Research being preformed.

As a Prototype Machinist, Ray machines, manufactures or 3D Prints various parts assigned using Manual and/or CNC Machinery out of a variety of materials for whatever the application may be for the research being preformed. Materials include Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Plastics and or exotic materials, including plastics used for 3D Printing of parts.
