Laura Vajanto

Board Member at Pacific Community Resources Society

Laura Vajanto is a board member at Pacific Community Resources Society and was formerly with Simon Fraser University, Stantec, and SLR Consulting. Laura has over 15 years of experience in environmental and safety management. At Simon Fraser University, Laura was the lead developer of the university's emergency management program and also created training exercises for staff and faculty on how to deal with various emergencies. Laura was also the lead advisor on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project, where they worked with the Chief Safety Officer to ensure that the project met all regulatory requirements. Laura has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

Laura Vajanto began their educational career by obtaining a Master of Science in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester. Laura then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Soil and Environmental Chemistry from Helsinki University.
