Karla Silvestre has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent role was as the President of the Montgomery County Board of Education, where they provided leadership and oversight for the Montgomery County Public Schools. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Community Engagement at Montgomery College. Karla also worked as a Latino Liaison for the Montgomery County Government and as the Vice President for Children and Youth Services at Congreso de Latinos Unidos. Karla started their career as an Education Coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania.
Karla Silvestre obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Florida State University from 1991 to 1995. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Masters of Education from the University of Pennsylvania from 1998 to 2000.
