Joe Contreras, PMP, serves as the Vice President of Operations and Impact at Montgomery County Food Bank since February 2024, previously holding the role of Director of Programs. Joe's recent military experience includes retirement from the U.S. Army in February 2024, where service spanned from February 2011 to June 2018 as a Major, overseeing roles such as Brigade Operations Officer and Chief of Logistics. Prior to military retirement, Joe was the Executive Director of the First-Generation Center at Sam Houston State University from July 2018 to September 2023 and served as Department Chair and Lieutenant Colonel. Joe holds a Master's degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Texas Tech University.

MISSION: Uniting our community to fight hunger. VISION: A community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food. PURPOSE: Montgomery County Food Bank is a nonprofit, hunger relief organization dedicated to uniting the community to fight hunger. Montgomery County Food Bank provides meals to families, seniors and children who lack access to wholesome nourishing food through a network of 80+ partner agencies, local school districts and community partners. Through partnerships with local retailers and wholesalers, Montgomery County Food Bank receives and purposefully distributes donated and surplus food. True to its mission, Montgomery County Food Bank works alongside volunteers, corporate and community partners, and nonprofit agencies to build a community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food.
