Brian Hickey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Brian currently holds the position of Head of Development at Moonshot since February 2022. Prior to this, Brian worked at Enel X as the Head of Demand Response Digital Platforms from October 2019 to March 2022, and as a Software Engineering Manager from August 2017 to October 2019. Before Enel X, they held roles at EnerNOC as a Software Development Manager from February 2017 to August 2017, and as a Senior Developer/Architect from April 2015 to February 2017. Brian's earliest known work experience is with Version 1, where they served as a Principal Consultant from October 2003 to April 2015. In this role, they were involved in solution architecture, business analysis, project management, and sales/proposals. Brian started their career at Avatar, where they served as the Director and co-founder from July 2000 to October 2003.
Brian Hickey pursued their undergraduate education at Trinity College Dublin from 1996 to 2000. Brian obtained a BA/BAI degree with a focus on Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Brian has also obtained various certifications. In 2005, they became a Zend Certified Engineer. In 2011, they completed the course "Managing Microsoft Dynamics Implementations" provided by Microsoft. Further, in 2013, Brian acquired the TOGAF 9 Level 1 and 2 certification from The Open Group, as well as the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level certification from Amazon.
