Chris Burgess

Chris Burgess is a highly experienced researcher specializing in Neural Networks and Deep Neural Networks (DNN), currently serving as Principal Research Scientist at Moonvalley since August 2024. Previously, Chris held the position of Staff Research Scientist at Runway for a brief period in late 2023 to early 2024 and was a Staff Research Scientist & Team Lead at Wayve from March 2021 to October 2022. Prior to these roles, Chris worked at DeepMind from May 2016 to April 2021 as a Senior Research Scientist and earlier as a Research Scientist, focusing on DNNs. Chris began an academic career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Neuroscience at University College London, contributing to research on visual perception and neural activity from October 2015 to May 2016. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Neuroscience obtained from University College London in January 2015, following a Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience from the same institution in January 2009.
