Joe McGarry

Joe McGarry is currently a Partner at Moorhouse, a management consulting firm. Joe has over 15 years of experience in the industry, having worked at various companies in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand.

Joe started their career as a Principal Consultant at Detica in 2001. Joe spent six years at the company, working on business and technology change programmes in the financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare sectors. In 2007, they left Detica to join SMS Management & Technology in Australia as Practice Lead.

At SMS Management & Technology, Joe was responsible for leading the Portfolio & Programme Services practice in New South Wales. Joe oversaw portfolio management, programme management, and change management projects for clients in the financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare industries. In 2010, Joe left SMS Management & Technology to start their own business, MS1 Energy, an on-shore wind power development start-up.

After a year working on their own business, Joe joined PA Consulting Group as a Managing Consultant in October 2010. Joe spent three years at PA Consulting Group, during which time they worked on business and technology change programmes in the healthcare sector in the UK. In October 2013, Joe left PA Consulting Group to join Moorhouse as a Partner.

Joe McGarry has a BSc from the University of Leeds in Physics with Astrophysics, and an MSc from Loughborough University in Renewable Energy Systems Technology. Joe also has certification from the Management Consultancies Association as a Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC), from the Chartered Management Institute as a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI), and from the Association for Project Management as a Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM). In addition, they hold certifications from the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Master, from APMG International in Management of Portfolios (MoP) - Practitioner, and from APMG International in Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) - Advanced Practitioner. Finally, they are certified by APMG International in Projects In Controlled Environments (PRINCE2) - Practitioner.
