Jose Carlos Pazos

Jose Carlos Pazos has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering and teaching. Jose Carlos currently works at Moovx as a Software Engineering Tech Lead, where they are responsible for backend development and leads the technical aspects for the client Serena and Lily. Previously, they worked as a Lecturer at UTEC - Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología, teaching introductory programming courses and a Cybersecurity course focused on secure web development and cryptography. Jose Carlos also worked as a Software Engineer at Wolfram, where they focused on API improvement, authentication functionality, and the integration of blockchain technology into Wolfram Language. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia, where they gained research and teaching experience. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia, developing a web extension called Distort for secure and anonymous communication on Twitter using cryptography. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Software Developer at Three Point Turn, where they assisted in implementing the front-end of a website and automated the shirt printing process.

Jose Carlos Pazos completed their education in the field of Computer Science. From 2017 to 2019, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at The University of British Columbia. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2016, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Combined Honours Mathematics and Computer Science from the same university. In addition to their degrees, Jose also holds a certification in "Learning npm the Node Package Manager," which they obtained from LinkedIn in December 2021.
