Kurt Odell

Vice President Enterprise Risk And Compliance at Moran Towing

Kurt Odell has extensive experience in the legal field, with roles ranging from paralegal to attorney to corporate counsel. Kurt began their career as a Paralegal in the Structured Finance Group at Dewey Ballentine. Kurt then worked as an Attorney at the Law Offices of Paul N. Shapera, LLC, where they gained experience in plaintiff's trial work. Odell continued their legal career as a Trial Attorney at AIG (Law Offices of Jack V. Genovese, II), managing a large caseload of civil tort lawsuits. Kurt then joined Moran Towing Corporation as Senior Litigation Counsel, providing strategic advice on commercial and regulatory issues. Odell also worked at The Pasha Group as a Corporate Counsel, before returning to Moran Towing Corporation as Vice President of Enterprise Risk and Compliance. Additionally, they have served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Business, teaching Employment Law to Executive MBA students.

Kurt Odell completed their undergraduate education at Hamilton College from 1994 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Kurt then attended the University at Buffalo School of Law from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a Doctor of Law degree. In 2006, Kurt pursued further education at the University of Connecticut School of Law, specializing in Insurance Law and earning a Master of Laws degree in 2008. To complement their legal background with business expertise, Kurt enrolled in the University of Connecticut School of Business in 2015, graduating in 2017 with a Master of Business Administration degree from their Executive program.
