James Lavoy is a seasoned spiritual health practitioner with extensive experience in psychospiritual oncology and providing spiritual, emotional, and cultural support to individuals and families affected by cancer. Currently serving at the Cross Cancer Institute since January 2024 and as a casual spiritual health practitioner at Covenant Health Canada’s Misericordia and Grey Nuns Hospitals, James Lavoy has previously held the position of chaplain focused on rural acute, palliative, and long-term care. James Lavoy has an extensive pastoral background within the Moravian Church, fulfilling roles such as pastor at multiple churches, ecumenical officer, and vice chair within the Canadian District. Additionally, experience includes serving as executive director for a nature-based youth summer camp, overseeing visitor services for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and a strong academic foundation with degrees from Moravian University, Moravian Theological Seminary, and recent clinical pastoral education at various institutions.
