Godspower Mercy Lawal is a dedicated public health professional and student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Information Science and Data Science. Currently serving as a Public Health Intern for the Carolinas RESPOND Study, Lawal actively contributes to a significant NIH-funded research initiative. In leadership roles such as Co-President and Community Events Consultant for One Africa, Lawal has successfully fostered community engagement and organized impactful events. Additional experiences include serving as a Resident Advisor at Carolina Housing, a Student Manager for the Women’s Basketball Team, and various leadership positions in student organizations. Lawal's commitment to academic and community excellence is further underscored by a prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship and participation in the Sutton Trust US Programme through the US-UK Fulbright Commission. Previous experiences include a role as a Volunteer and Intern at Alive Medical Services, as well as a Crew Trainer at McDonald's.
