James A. Phelan

James A. Phelan is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader with extensive experience in investment, business development, and startup acceleration. Currently serving as the Investment & Growth leader at The Cannon Community and a Senior Advisor at MoreThan Capital, James also co-founded Budapop Bottling Co. where responsibilities include managing investment and partnership opportunities. As Managing Director of the Founder Institute Texas, James has played a pivotal role in supporting early-stage startups. Additional board and advisory roles include positions at Omnispace360, Univrso, Techstars, and Fresh Arts, among others. James holds degrees in Architecture and Business from the University of Southern California and the University of St. Thomas, along with a specialization in Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.
