Brendan Sweeney represents employers in labor and employment litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Brendan defends management from claims of discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, and wrongful termination. Brendan also has experience with breach of contract, non-competition, non-solicitation, and other commercial issues facing employers. In addition to litigation, Brendan’s practice includes advising employers on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including personnel and discipline issues, disability accommodations and leave management, severance negotiations, and compliance with the complex and ever-shifting employment and labor laws.
Prior to joining Morgan, Brown & Joy, Brendan was an associate at a small firm in Boston where his practice focused exclusively on employment law. During law school, Brendan was an articles editor for the Boston University International Law Journal. Brendan also completed internships at the Boston University Office of the General Counsel, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and was a law clerk in a mid-sized Boston law firm. Prior to law school, Brendan taught English language classes in elementary and junior high schools in rural Japan.
