Shane R. Goodrich

Shane Goodrich represents employers both locally and nationally in a wide variety of employment related matters. Shane devotes a significant portion of his practice to counseling clients on the full spectrum of employment issues, including wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, contract drafting and interpretation, handbooks and policies, employee accommodations, hiring and terminations, background checks, and non-competition, non-disclosure and non-solicitation agreements. His work spans across many industries, including retail, manufacturers, federal contractors, municipalities, health care, restaurants and small and expanding businesses.

Shane is also an experienced and skilled litigator who represents employers in a variety of labor and employment litigation, including claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour violations, Family and Medical Leave Act claims, wrongful terminations and contract disputes. He prides himself on obtaining resolutions for his clients in complex employment cases through dispositive motions and favorable settlements. As a litigator, Shane appears regularly in federal and state courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and numerous other state anti-discrimination agencies across the country.

Prior to joining Morgan Brown & Joy, Shane worked for several years at a mid-size firm in Connecticut where he represented both employers and employees in employment matters. He also gained extensive experience as a commercial litigator in cases concerning business law, real estate, municipal law, and insurance, among others. As a result of these experiences, Shane offers employers a unique perspective on the wide range of employment-related issues that may arise in the workplace.

Shane has repeatedly been recognized as a “Rising Star” by New England Super Lawyers in the field of labor and employment. He has also been recognized by the peer reviewed publication Best Lawyers as “One to Watch” in the fields of labor and employment management and litigation.

Shane is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he was an associate editor for the University of Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. During law school, he interned in the civil division of the Office of the Attorney General in Providence, Rhode Island.
