Laura Duncan

Laura Duncan has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Laura began their career as an International Visitors Program Intern at the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana in 2013. Laura was responsible for writing project proposals for the U.S. Department of State's professional exchange projects.

In 2014, Laura worked as a Legal Assistant at Indus Law Firm and as a Program and Communications Coordinator at the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

In 2015, they served as a Program Coordinator at the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations, where they contributed to research and discussions on international relations and U.S. foreign policy.

From 2016 to 2017, Laura worked as an Assistant Director at the Beaded Treasures Project, a social enterprise empowering resettled refugee women. Laura led branding, marketing, e-commerce, and daily operations, as well as supported strategic expansion and community partnerships.

Starting in 2017, Laura returned to the World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, this time as the Visitor Program Manager. In this role, they managed all aspects of the International Visitor Leadership Program, implemented numerous professional projects, and developed strong relationships with stakeholders.

In 2020, Laura joined the World Affairs Councils of America as a Senior Communications & Programs Officer, responsible for managing communications and programs.

Laura'smost recent role is as an Analyst, Business Development & Contracts at Morgan Business Consulting, where they began in July 2022. Laura later transitioned to the role of Operations Associate, specializing in business development.

Overall, Laura Duncan has gained extensive experience in program management, communications, and international affairs throughout their career.

Laura Duncan earned a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies from Indiana University Southeast. Laura also studied Chinese Language at Bellarmine University. In 2021-2022, Laura pursued a Master of Arts in Global Risk from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Additionally, they obtained a certification in Introductory Financial Accounting from Harvard Business Publishing Education in August 2022.
