Colin Benedict

Colin Benedict is the VP of News at Morgan Murphy Media. Colin has over 20 years of experience in news leadership and management.

Colin started their career in news as a Managing Editor at WISC-TV in 1998. Colin oversaw day-to-day news coverage plans across multiple platforms. In 2008, they were promoted to News Director. In this role, they helped lead and grow a group of 40+ journalists to serve their community with the most relevant, engaging and unique content in the most convenient way possible. Colin oversaw news efforts across TV, web, mobile and social with market-leading results.

In 2020, Colin left WISC-TV after 12 years to join Morgan Murphy Media as their VP of News.

Colin Benedict has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Colin has also completed Broadcast Leadership Training from the NAB Education Foundation, as well as Leadership Academy from Poynter.

Their manager is Elizabeth Murphy Burns, President & CEO. Colin Benedict works with Bill Vickery - Director, Engineering, Samantha Linn - Controller & Chief Accounting Officer, and Neal J. Oberg - VP, Digital Media.
