Jayla Young is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff and previously held the position of Java Software Engineer at Morgan Stanley since February 2024. Prior to this, Jayla completed an Engineering Apprenticeship at Year Up in early 2024, gaining over 200 hours of hands-on training in programming and software development. Jayla has also worked as a Client Engagement Coordinator at FranklinCovey, where responsibilities included managing client orders and maintaining databases using Salesforce. As a General Assembly Software Engineering Fellow from September 2022 to April 2023, Jayla participated in an intensive program focused on software engineering principles. Jayla's earlier career includes roles as a Science Teacher at KIPP South Fulton Academy, Job Placement Specialist at 365 Works, and various positions in retail and event coordination, demonstrating a diverse skill set that spans education, technology, and client relations. Educational qualifications include an immersive certification in Software Engineering from General Assembly and a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Clark Atlanta University.
