Julie Goodwin

General Counsel at Morgan State University

Julie Goodwin is the current General Counsel at Morgan State University. Prior to their current position, they served as University Counsel at the University of Maryland from April 1982 to December 1991. Julie also worked as a Law Clerk at the Office of the Public Defender-Appellate Division from January 1981 to December 1982, where they researched and prepared draft appellate briefs and memoranda of law for Maryland Courts of Appeals and Special Appeals. Julie Goodwin began their legal career as a Legal Intern for The Honorable Harry A. Cole at the Maryland Court of Appeals from January 1980 to December 1981, where they reviewed appellate briefs and prepared draft appellate opinions and memoranda of law.

Julie Goodwin received their Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Julie also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Additionally, they have a degree in Admiralty, Comparative Criminal and Public Law from Athens University and Temple University School of Law, Athens, Greece. Julie is currently pursuing a Doctor of Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
