Morgridge Institute for Research
Dan Bar Yaacov is a highly experienced researcher and educator in the field of genetics and evolutionary biology, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Morgridge Institute for Research and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science since 2015. Dan's research focuses on RNA variation in bacteria and its significance in antibiotic tolerance. Prior experience includes a Ph.D. from Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where research centered on mitochondrial genetics and species formation, along with roles as a teaching assistant in genetics, statistics, and faunistics. Dan also contributed to education at Tapuh Pais Arad, teaching young students about zoology and cell biology. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, a Master's Degree in Mitochondrial Genetics, Evolution, and Ecology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in the same field from Ben Gurion University.

The Morgridge Institute for Research is a nonprofit biomedical institute exploring uncharted scientific territory to discover tomorrow’s cures. Morgridge works to improve human health through innovative, interdisciplinary biomedical discoveries, spark scientific curiosity and serve society through translational outcomes, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Research areas include regenerative biology and bioinformatics, virology, medical engineering, metabolism, core computational technology and bioethics.
