Kurt Weiss serves as the Director of the Biochemistry Optical Core at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since March 2022 and is currently an Assistant Scientist at the Morgridge Institute for Research since September 2016, focusing on high-resolution imaging techniques including flamingo light sheet microscopy and tissue clearing. Prior experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, contributing to multi-scale imaging projects under the guidance of Jan Huisken and Kevin Eliceiri, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where research involved electron microscopy image processing with advisors Chiara Cirelli and Giulio Tononi. Kurt Weiss earned a PhD in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where research focused on the role of Huntingtin in axonal transport, and previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
