Senior Research Scientist at Morrow Batteries

Mehdi Mahmoodinia, PhD, has extensive work experience in the field of chemical and process engineering. Mehdi is currently employed as a Senior Research Scientist at Morrow Batteries since June 2022. Mehdi is also working as a Senior Research Scientist at Morrow Batteries since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2018 to 2022, where they held various roles including Researcher in Chemical and Process Engineering and Postdoctoral Researcher in Chemical and Process Engineering. In these roles, their responsibilities included working on IPN projects in collaboration with industry partners, conducting multiscale modeling and characterization of materials, project management, mentoring, supervising research activities, and lecturing.

Before joining NTNU, Mehdi worked as a PhD Research fellow & Teacher Assistant at NTNU from 2012 to 2017. During this time, they specialized in modeling of materials and heterogeneous catalysis, with a focus on energy systems and hydrogen fuel cells. Mehdi developed computational models to study reaction mechanisms in different chemical processes.

Additionally, Mehdi has experience as a Laboratory Manager and Lecturer/Teacher at various university colleges and schools from 2001 to 2012.

Mehdi Mahmoodinia, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry, specializing in Reaction Kinetics & Catalysis. Mehdi obtained their PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Physical Chemistry at Shiraz University from 2008 to 2010. Mehdi also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz (Jundi Shapur) from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, they have an Associate's degree in Teacher Training Education, obtained from the Teacher Training Center in Iran from 2001 to 2003.

Mehdi Mahmoodinia has also obtained several additional certifications to further enhance their professional skills. In 2019, they received a Certificate of attendance for an Aiida (Automated Interactive Infrastructure and Database for Computational Science) workshop from SINTEF Oslo. In 2018, they obtained a Course Certificate for Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In 2017, they attended the GROMACS, AMBER, NAMD, and VMD Spring School and received a Certificate of attendance from PRACE and the BioExcel Centre of Excellence in Stockholm, Sweden.
