Frank Janssen

Head of Bioprocess development at Mosa Meat at Mosa Meat

Frank Janssen has extensive work experience in the bioprocess technology field. Frank is currently the Head of Bioprocess Development at Mosa Meat, starting in February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Vaxxinova as a Project Lead Bioprocess Technology from December 2017 to January 2023. Frank also worked at Merck as an Associate Principal Scientist in Bioprocess Technology and Support from November 2008 to October 2017. Earlier in their career, they held positions as a Process Scientist at Xpand / Progentix from January 2005 to January 2008, a Process Engineer at Crucell from April 2003 to June 2004, a Process Engineer at Isotis from May 2001 to April 2003, and a Fermentation Technician at Campina Melkunie from January 2000 to May 2001.

Frank Janssen completed their VWO degree at BC Broekhin from 1985 to 1991. Frank then attended Wageningen University & Research from 1991 to 1997, where they obtained their MSc in Food Science and Biotechnology. Following this, they pursued a Master of Biotechnology (BODL) degree at Delft University of Technology from 1997 to 2000, focusing on Bioprocestechnology, Microbiology, and Scale up. Finally, Frank received their PhD from the University of Twente from 2004 to 2008, specializing in Tissue Engineering and Bioreactor Technology.
