Yiğit Altay

Expert Scientist at Mosa Meat

Yiğit Altay has a diverse work experience in the fields of science and research. Yiğit started their career in 2013 as a PhD student at the University of Groningen, where they conducted extensive analysis of complex molecular networks using various chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy techniques. During this time, they also designed and synthesized novel peptides for self-replication in dynamic combinatorial libraries. Additionally, they optimized the experimental setup for far-from-equilibrium studies.

After completing their PhD, Altay worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology from 2018 to 2020. Here, they focused on the dynamic assembly of polymersome mesostructures and successfully designed a 3D-printable flow reactor for out-of-equilibrium experiments. Yiğit also published two first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Currently, Altay is working as a Senior Scientist at Mosa Meat since December 2020. In this role, they oversee analytical activities for novel food applications, including method development, validation, and stability testing of cell culture medium and tissues using LC and LC-MS/MS techniques.

Altay's work experience demonstrates their expertise in analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and scientific research.

Yiğit Altay's education history begins in 2006 when they started their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Bilkent University. Yiğit completed their undergraduate studies in 2011.

Following this, in 2011, they pursued a Master of Science in Chemistry also at Bilkent University, which they completed in 2013.

In 2010, Yiğit participated in an Erasmus Exchange program at Eindhoven University of Technology, where they studied Chemistry for a year.

Finally, they went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemistry at the University of Groningen, where they enrolled in 2013 and completed their studies in 2017.
