Shawn Hirst

Director, Mission Operations at Mothers Against Drunk Driving

Shawn Hirst has a diverse work experience spanning various nonprofit organizations and roles. From 2021 to the present, they have worked at Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), first as the Regional Executive Director for NY|NJ|PA, and currently as the Director of Mission Operations. Prior to that, they served as the Corporate Philanthropy and Events Manager at Long Island Cares, Inc | The Harry Chapin Food Bank from 2020 to 2021. From 2018 to 2020, Shawn worked as the Director of Development at IGHL, and briefly served as the Executive Director of East End Arts in 2018. They held multiple roles at SYJCC from 2017 to 2018, including Acting Chief Program Officer and Chief Development Officer. From 2010 to 2016, they served as the Executive Director at Patchogue-Medford Youth & Community Services, Inc. Before that, from 2007 to 2010, Shawn was the Project Coordinator at SNAP Long Island. Their career began as a Social Worker at FEGS from 2003 to 2007.

Shawn Hirst obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Social Work from Syracuse University from 1998 to 2002. Later, from 2002 to 2003, Shawn completed a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree at Adelphi University.
