Jeff Jia

Jeff Jia, CFA has diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jeff is currently the Director of Investment Operations at Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans. Prior to this, they worked at LACERA as a Senior Investment Analyst, where they monitored performance, risk, and guideline compliance across various strategies. Jeff also conducted investment searches, structure reviews, and ad hoc projects in cross-functional teams. Before joining LACERA, Jeff Jia worked as an Academic Intern at BHR PE Fund, a Sino-American private equity fund management firm. Additionally, they have experience as a Stock Options Administrator at Amphastar Pharmaceuticals and as a Business Executive in Mining and Trading Operations at Bona Resources Holding Group. Jeff started their career at Chalco Trading Hong Kong as a Business Manager.

Jeff Jia, CFA, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degrees in Business Administration and Legal Studies, respectively, from the University of California, Berkeley, during the period of 2004 to 2009. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the UCLA Anderson School of Management from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Jeff Jia has obtained various certifications, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute in August 2021 and the Essential Financial Modelling certificate from Gridlines in May 2020.
