Chinpei T.'s work experience begins with a role as a Robotics Instructor at an after-school startup, where they collaborated on creating a robotics and computer science curriculum. They then worked as a Research Associate at The University of Texas at Dallas, developing a wireless networked multi-robot research platform. After that, they were a Visiting Researcher at the Air Force Research Laboratory, conducting research on flapping wing mechanisms. They also worked as a Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo, where they contributed to mechanical design and modeling for cooperative object transport projects. They held various roles at Caterpillar Inc., including Senior Engineer and Engineering Team Leader, where they managed full machine system integration and led the development of automation features for mining drill products. They also worked at Magna International as a Senior Robotics Engineer, leading an Advanced Robotics Tactile Perception and Grasping R&D program. Furthermore, they worked at Kindred Part of Ocado Group as a Technical Program Manager, managing the product development and program of an INDUCT pilot cell. They then joined TuSimple as a Senior Technical Program Manager, leading a team in the development and testing of automotive components and software subsystems for self-driving trucks. Most recently, they worked at Fanatics, Inc. as a Program Manager, overseeing the implementation of automated sorting and retrieval systems in a warehouse. Currently, they hold the role of Principal Technical Program Manager - Planning & Control at Motional, where they contribute to the development of driverless vehicles.

Chinpei T. has a diverse educational background. In 2024, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic and Innovative Management from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to that, in 2021, they completed an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
