Dimitris Geromichalos

Dimitris Geromichalos is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the field of autonomous systems and robotics. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer and Team Lead at Motional since November 2020, Dimitris focuses on enhancing machine learning products for autonomous driving through continuous learning. Prior roles include leading research initiatives for the nuPlan benchmark and developing weather condition modeling techniques. Previous experience encompasses significant contributions as a Robotics Engineer at Continental, where expertise in Lidar-based object detection and SLAM methods was further honed. Additional experiences include a traineeship at the European Space Agency focusing on SLAM for Mars exploration, an internship at Autoliv in sensor fusion for ADAS, and foundational work in mobile robotics at Pandora Robotic. Dimitris holds a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
