Yi Wang

Yi Wang is a highly experienced engineer specializing in machine learning and infrastructure development. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Engineer at Motional, Yi Wang leads the organization's efforts in building state-of-the-art data and machine learning infrastructure, significantly enhancing training data preparation pipelines and model evaluation systems. Previously, as a Staff Software Engineer at Cruise, Yi Wang was instrumental in establishing a performance ecosystem that optimized training processes and contributed to significant cost savings. Prior roles at Facebook and Google emphasized performance optimization in distributed training and the development of machine learning infrastructures, where Yi Wang contributed to innovations in PyTorch and various applied machine learning projects. Yi Wang holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Wuhan University.
