CEO & Co-Founder at Motive

Kai Gray's work experience begins in 2000 as a Web Services Manager at Collego Corp. They later served as the Director of Hosting Operations at Fourthchannel, Inc. and then as the Director of Hosting & I.T. at SupplyWorks. In 2006, Kai became the Director of Operations at Maven (Yahoo! Video Platform/Syndication) before joining Carbonite as the Sr. Director of Operations and later as the Vice President, Operations.

In 2013, Kai became the Vice President Of Operations at Upthere, where they were actively involved in raising venture capital and played a key role in the acquisition of the company by Western Digital in 2017. Kai then held the position of Sr. Director, Operations Engineering at Western Digital until May 2020.

Kai's work experience also includes being a Guest Lecturer at Brown University's Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program and serving as an Advisor at Nearpod.

Most recently, Kai co-founded Motive in 2020 and currently serves as the CEO & Co-Founder.

Kai Gray completed a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management at Tufts University from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Boston University, finishing in 2005. Their education began at Winchester High School, where they attended from 1984 to 1989. Additionally, Kai attended Kimball Union Academy for the academic year 1989-1990, but the degree and field of study are unspecified for both high school and the academy.
