Jess Riegel has had a varied and successful career, beginning with their role as an Application Reviewer for Teach For America in 2014. In 2015, they took on the role of Pro Bono Consultant & Mentor for Net Impact. In 2016, they were an Associate at Cause Strategy Partners, LLC. In 2017, they were a Social Innovation Fellow at StartingBloc, an Impact Coordinator at Kinvolved, and an Intern at What Works Cities. In 2018, they were an Innovative Finance Fellow at The Rockefeller Foundation and Co-Founder & CEO at Motivote, where they used the latest in behavioral science to build civic habits, starting with voting. In 2022, they became Co-Founder & CEO of Participant Inc.

Jess Riegel holds a BA in Political Economy and Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy with a focus on Social Impact, Innovation and Investment from New York University, and has completed a Design Kit: The Course for Human-Centered Design certification from IDEO.org. Additionally, Jess Riegel has studied at the University of Cape Town.
