Eric Burton

Eric Burton currently serves as the Energy & Climate Lending Director at Mountain BizWorks, a position held since October 2024. Prior to this role, Eric held multiple positions at Pine Gate Renewables from February 2020 to May 2024, including Market Development Associate, Development Analyst, and Associate Project Manager. Eric's early experience includes research assistant roles at the Duke University Energy Access Project and the Sustainable Energy Transitions Initiative, as well as a research assistant position at Appalachian State University. In addition, Eric completed a summer internship at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in 2016. Academic qualifications consist of a Master of Environmental Management with a focus on Energy and Environment from Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment (2017-2019) and a Bachelor's Degree in Geography from Appalachian State University (2013-2017).
