Arabinda Behura has extensive experience in the medical field, working in various roles and organizations over the years. Arabinda is currently serving as the Medical Director Physician Advisory Service at Cabell Huntington Hospital since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Physician Advisor at WellSpan Health from 2019 to 2021.
From 2014 to 2019, Arabinda held two positions at Geisinger Holy Spirit. Arabinda worked as a Hospitalist from 2017 to 2019 and also served as a Physician Advisor during this time. In their role as a Physician Advisor, they focused on providing efficient and high-quality reviews for concurrent stays, case management support, and utilization management. Arabinda was also involved in committees focused on clinical outcome analysis and process improvement.
Before joining Geisinger Holy Spirit, Arabinda served as the Director of the Hospitalist program at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Hospitalist at Raleigh General Hospital from 2010 to 2013. In this position, they were responsible for admitting patients through the ER, ensuring patient safety and quality improvement, and planning safe discharges.
Arabinda began their medical career as a Resident Physician at St. Josephs Mercy Oakland, Pontiac, where they served from 2007 to 2010. Arabinda also worked as an MD at Sjmo during the same period.
Arabinda Behura completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute from 1999-2005. Before that, they studied I. Sc at Ravenshaw College from 1995-1997. Arabinda also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In terms of additional certifications, Arabinda Behura obtained the Health Care Quality & Management (HCQM) Certification from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) in December 2018, and the CHCQM certification from the same institution in 2019. Arabinda also obtained the ABIM certification from the ABIM Foundation in 2010. Other certifications include ACLS certification and ECFMG (Educational Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates) certification.
