Tom Wood is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in brand management and project oversight within the safety and rescue sectors. Currently serving as Brand Manager and Industrial Project Manager at Harken Safety & Rescue since January 2019, Tom also holds the position of President and Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor with the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) and General Manager at Cascade Rescue Company. With a longstanding commitment to mountain rescue, Tom has been the Mission Coordinator for the Alpine Rescue Team since 1998 and is a Terrestrial Rescue Delegate to the International Commission for Alpine Rescue since 2015. Additionally, Tom is an accomplished freelance writer specializing in adventure, rescue, and nonfiction narratives, authoring works such as "Trading Steel for Stone: Tales of a Rustbelt Refugee Turned Rocky Mountain Rescuer." Prior experience includes a role as Technical Department Manager at Pigeon Mountain Industries, Inc., and service as a Combat Photographer in the United States Marine Corps. Tom is an alumnus of Kent State University, having graduated in 1990.
