Silja Paymer

Silja Paymer has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Board Member for the Mountain View Education Foundation since August 2023 and as a Physics Teacher for the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District since June 2020. Previous roles include Physics Teacher at Evergreen Valley High School from August 2019 to June 2020, Physics Specialist at Khan Lab School from October 2018 to June 2019, and Physics Teacher at James Lick High School from August 2015 to May 2018. Additionally, Silja has held the position of Physics and Chemistry Teacher at Palo Alto Unified School District and served as an Ambassador for STEP UP Physics Together since July 2019. Silja's academic background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Physics/History from Boston College. Prior to the education career, Silja worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Applied Materials from July 2008 to June 2010 and traveled the world from June 2010 to August 2012.
