Melissa Larkin, M. Ed

Melissa Larkin, M. Ed has a diverse range of work experience. Melissa has worked as a Visual Art Teacher at Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc. since May 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Wellness Per Diem focusing on Mind Body Spirit at Mountainside from December 2015. Their responsibilities included teaching qigong, yoga, and spiritual enrichment at a drug and alcohol retreat center, specializing in creative arts and yoga therapy.

Before that, Melissa worked as a Floral Designer at Kamilla's Floral Boutique from November 2015 to May 2016. From May to September 2015, they were a Wine Associate at Vino Volo.

Melissa also has experience as a Teacher at Open Mind School from September 2014 to June 2015, and as an Art Teacher at Hillcrest Educational Centers from 2006 to July 2013.

Melissa worked as a Program Advisor at Canyon Ranch from August 2000 to January 2007. During this time, they were responsible for providing guidance and assistance in program selection for clients.

In addition, Melissa worked as an Art Teacher/ Permanent Substitute at Reid Middle School from August 2005 to June 2006. Their role involved teaching literacy-based art lessons for a self-contained classroom, providing substitute teaching in various subjects, and serving as a paraprofessional in a primary classroom.

Melissa's career began as a Sales Manager at Allan Woods Flowers and Gifts, Inc. from September 1996 to June 2000. Their responsibilities included telephone and in-shop floral sales, as well as preparing and merchandising flowers and plants at a busy upscale flower shop. Melissa also assisted with weddings and events at embassies and the Kennedy Honors.

Melissa Larkin, M.Ed, began their education journey at Syracuse University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, with a focus on Anthropology, Art History, Fine Arts, and Italian. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Creative Arts in Learning at Lesley University from 2003 to 2004.

In addition to their formal education, Melissa has obtained several certifications in various fields. In 2003, they completed the 310 Hour YogaKids(R) Facilitator Training program offered by YogaKids(R). In 2010, they became a certified Health Coach through Integrative Nutrition. In 2013, Melissa underwent a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Maui Yoga Shala. Their most recent certification, completed in 2015, is the 500 Hours Yoga RX Yoga Therapy program offered by Loyola Marymount University.
