Justin Halpin has had a long and varied career in the gaming industry. Jud (Justin) began in 1999 as a Quality Assurance at Mattel Interactive, where they acted as an internal quality control check and entered bugs into a tracking database. In 2002, they moved to Visual Concepts as a Quality Assurance. In 2006, they became a Lead Level Designer at America's Army / SAIC, where they managed the day-to-day project activities and resources, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel and motivating team members to meet project goals. In 2010, they moved to Electronic Arts (EA) as a Level Designer, where they were responsible for designs from conception to the final stages of polish. In 2011, they joined Crystal Dynamics as a Level Designer, creating gameplay prototypes to further improve existing game systems. In 2012, they became a Home Engineer at The Parental Pause. In 2020, they joined Mountaintop Studios as a Level Designer, where they were responsible for prototyping new experiences for an unannounced game and building prototype levels to shape the overall Level Design Philosophy. Finally, in 2021, they became an Instructor at the Academy of Art University.
Jud (Justin) Halpin received an Associate Teacher Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Merritt College in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics and Special Effects from SAE Expression College in 2006.
