Trade unions have won countless victories for the vulnerable, workers and wider society. They’re still fighting for us, but the tech they rely on is letting them down. It’s slow, out of date, and doesn’t enable the kind of distributed organising they need in order to win for their members. Movement changes that, combining digital-first expectations with a deep knowledge of workplace organising. It’s the first modern organising SaaS platform built from the ground up with the needs of union organisers in mind, allowing them to record visits, call, text and email members and prospects easily. That’s what it does now. Our ultimate vision is every union in the world on Movement, using it as a single operating system to collect dues, manage membership and organise for a better working world. We believe that better tech, sharing best practice and enabling union activists to focus on organising will lead to a virtuous cycle of more members, who are paid better and have more rights, leading to more members and so on. That’s why an integral part of Movement will be building a community where union activists can share best practice and celebrate victories for members –— and ensure there are more.
