Catarina Martins has a diverse work experience in the field of technology, sustainability, and environmental research. Catarina started their career at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where they worked as a Project Manager and Scientific Manager for various projects related to aquaculture and sustainability. In 2011, they joined the Centre for Marine Sciences in Portugal as a Senior Researcher. Catarina then transitioned to Mowi, a seafood company, where they held positions such as Group Manager for Environment & Sustainability and Chief Sustainability Officer. Currently, Catarina holds the role of Chief Technology and Sustainability Officer at Mowi.
Catarina Martins pursued their education history in a chronological order. Catarina first attended the University of Lisbon from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Licentiate degree in Animal Biology - Marine Resources. Catarina then furthered their studies at Wageningen University & Research from 2001 to 2005, earning a PhD in Aquaculture/ Animal Sciences. Finally, they attended the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) from 2016 to 2018, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Seafood Management.
