Kristen Denton has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Kristen began their career as an Office Assistant at Total-Western, Inc. in 2006. From 2006 to 2009, they worked at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History as both a Visitor Services staff member and a Ty Warner Sea Center Interpreter, where they supervised public areas, mentored staff, and taught nature education programs to students.
In 2009, Kristen transitioned to the education sector and worked as a Substitute Teacher at both the Greenfield Union School District and the Bakersfield City School District. Kristen then joined the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens as a Summer Camp Instructor in 2010.
From 2010 to 2023, Kristen worked at the California Science Center in various roles. These included Community Programs Coordinator, Senior Coordinator of Community Programs, and Manager of Community and Exhibit Programs. In their roles, they managed intern programs, out-of-school programs for middle schoolers, and built relationships with families and community organizations. Kristen also oversaw early childhood education spaces, guest programming, and volunteer coordination within the education department of the center.
In 2023, Kristen joined MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation as the Associate Director of Education. The details of their responsibilities in this role are not provided.
Kristen Denton has a solid education history. Kristen started their education journey at UC Santa Barbara in 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquatic Biology. Kristen successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2009.
