Entrepreneur and business leader Monte R. Black founded MPW Industrial Services in 1972. Starting modestly with a $7000 loan to buy his first cleaning truck, Monte, for more than four decades, has passionately driven MPW and its five operating divisions to become one of the premier industrial service companies in North America.

Early on, Monte made a commitment to being the best, and he inspired his team to develop customized solutions in water blasting, vacuuming, hydro excavation and dozens of other services to quantify MPW as an industry leader in its field. MPW continues to invest in engineering and customized solutions to maintain that position.

Always looking for growth opportunities, MPW established its Facility Management Division in 1978, and that group continues to provide comprehensive cleaning and maintenance programs for major manufacturers. In subsequent years, MPW launched the Industrial Water Division and built the Container Management and Environmental Management Groups.

Headquartered in Central Ohio, MPW employs more than 3,000 people at 70-plus locations across the United States – a testament to Monte’s vision, commitment to hard work and his constant strive for excellence.
