Martin Engqvist is a highly skilled computational biologist currently employed at Mpya Sci & Tech since November 2024. Previously, Martin served as Group Lead in Computational Enzyme Design at EnginZyme, where a team was led to enhance enzyme stability and activity through advanced generative deep learning and atomistic modeling techniques. Martin's career also includes significant academic roles, such as Assistant Professor and Docent in Computational Biology at Chalmers University of Technology, where research focused on predicting protein thermostability using machine learning. Additional experience encompasses senior researcher roles, notably at Sahlgrenska Academy, and impactful positions at CropDesign and several prestigious institutions including Caltech, where contributions to diverse research projects led to numerous publications. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Botany/Plant Biology and a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology.
