Brian J. O'Brien

Brian J. O'Brien is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in credit risk management and risk assessment. Currently serving as VP and Head of Credit Risk at Mr. Cooper since August 2019, Brian previously held the position of Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer at Blackstone for a brief period in late 2018. From 2013 to September 2018, Brian excelled at Goldman Sachs as Vice President and Chief Retail Credit Officer. Brian’s earlier career includes managerial roles at PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. and PHH Mortgage, as well as leadership positions at Crusader Bank and GE Capital. Brian began the finance journey at Norwest Financial and progressed through various roles at Chase. Education was completed at Temple University, where Brian earned a BBA in Finance and Real Estate.
