Stephanie Gavan has held a variety of roles in the media and education industries. In 2021, they began working as a Content Editor and Editorial Assistant for Mr & Mrs Smith. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Freelance Writer, writing about culture and contemporary art for a number of online and in print publications. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as an English Language Teacher for Just! Venice, where they taught a variety of syllabus and was outsourced to teach in public schools and local businesses. From 2014 to 2015, they were the Co Editor Chief for Queen of the Track, a printed publication that aimed to combine the visual sensuality of a luxury women’s magazine with the fizzy unpredictability of the underground press. Finally, from 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Program Communications for Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art Ltd.
Stephanie Gavan has a diverse educational background. Stephanie began their studies with a Foundation degree in Art & Design from University of the Arts London in 2009-2010. Stephanie then attended Goldsmiths, University of London for a Fine Art and Theirtory of Art Joint BA (hons) from 2011 to 2014, focusing on Sexual Poetics, Subcultures and Social Movements. In 2016-2017, they attended Instituto Venezia to study Italian Language and Literature. Most recently, they have been enrolled in Royal College of Art for an MA Writing in Critical Writing in Art and Design since 2019 and is expected to complete their studies in 2021.
