Amir Sheikhi is an accomplished academic currently serving as an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, and Neurosurgery at Penn State University, where Amir holds the Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Early Career Chair in Biomaterials and Regenerative Engineering. Since July 2024, Amir has been a Standing Member of the Biomaterials and Biointerfaces Study Section at the National Institutes of Health. In addition, Amir serves as an Editor for the Chemical Engineering Journal and as an Associate Editor for AIChE’s journal Bioengineering and Translational Medicine. Prior experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and McGill University. Amir earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and is currently pursuing an MBA at Penn State Smeal College of Business.
