Stefan Svensson is an experienced fire service expert and academic with extensive expertise in fire safety and emergency management. Currently serving as an Instructor and Fire Service Expert at MSB since June 2018, Stefan has a long-standing association with Lund University as an Associate Professor and University Lecturer since June 2011, where responsibilities include teaching, supervising, and research related to fire science. Previous roles include Advisory Board Member at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and various positions in the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and the Swedish Rescue Services Agency, where Stefan contributed to teaching, research, and project management. Stefan holds a Ph.D. in Fire Science from Lund University and has a strong background in fire safety engineering and command and control.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, MSB, develops the individual’s and society’s capacity to prevent, deal with and learn from emergencies and disasters. We work in close cooperation with the municipalities, the county councils, other authorities, the private sector, and organisations to achieve increased safety and security at all levels of society – from the local to the global community. MSB also has important tasks within the civil defence. We offer various work opportunities within several areas, for instance information security, emergency preparedness, decision support systems, supported supervision, analysis, inspections, regulations and operations abroad. MSB conducts hundreds of operations on a yearly basis. We continuously look for staff within various competencies to our roster. We are nearly 900 employees, situated in four locations in Sweden, Stockholm, Karlstad, Revinge and Sandö. Our training courses are in Sandö, Revinge and Rosersberg.
