Neil Acres

Neil Acres serves as the Global Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs at MSCI Inc. since June 2021. Prior to this role, Neil held various leadership positions at Moody's Corporation from 2008 to June 2021, including Managing Director of Regulatory & Public Affairs and Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Neil's experience also includes serving as AVP-Analyst Structured Finance at Moody's Investors Service from 2007 to 2008 and Manager (Legal) in the Capital Markets Department at the Financial Services Board from October 2005 to September 2007. Earlier in Neil's career, notable positions include Senior Legal Advisor at the South African Reserve Bank from June 2000 to September 2005. Neil's academic background encompasses an LLM (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg, an LLB (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria, a BCom in Law and Economics from the University of Johannesburg, and a Diploma in Commerce (DipCom) with a focus on Economics from The University of Auckland.
